স্পোর্টস ডেস্ক: ২০২৬ সালের ফুটবল বিশ্বকাপে প্রথমবারের মতো হবে ৪৮টি দলের লড়াই, যদিও আর্জেন্টিনার হাতে ৩৬ বছর পর শিরোপা উঠেছে।
পরবর্তী বিশ্বকাপের জন্য অপেক্ষা করতে হবে ২০২৬ সালের জুন-জুলাই পর্যন্ত। আর ঐ আসরে তার জন্য নতুন আঙ্গিকে শুরু হতে যাওয়া এই বিশ্বকাপে জায়গা করে নেয়ার জন্য আগামী সেপ্টেম্বর মাস থেকে শুরু হবে লাতিন আমেরিকা লড়াই।
লাতিন আমেরিকার সবচেয়ে বড় নিয়ন্ত্রক সংস্থা কনমেবল বাছাই পর্বের ম্যাচের সিডিউল প্রকাশ করেছে। তবে এবার লাতিন থেকে সরাসরি ৬টি দল বিশ্বকাপে খেলার যোগ্যতা অর্জন করবে। সপ্তম স্থানে থাকা দলটি প্লে অফ খেলার সুযোগ পাবে।
১০ দলের এই বাছাই পর্ব শুরু হবে চলতি বছরের সেপ্টেম্বর থেকে। অবশ্য এবার ২০২৬ সালের ফুটবল বিশ্বকাপে কিছুটা ভিন্নতা থাকছে। যেহেতু আগামী বিশ্বকাপে ৪৮টি দল অংশ নেবে, লাতিনের সবচেয়ে জনপ্রিয় দুই দল ব্রাজিল ও আর্জেন্টিনা। সবার আগ্রহের কেন্দ্রবিন্দুতে থাকে এ দুই দলের ম্যাচ। আলবিসেলেস্তেরা ৭ সেপ্টেম্বর বাংলাদেশ সময় রাত ২টায় ইকুয়েডরের বিপক্ষে ম্যাচ দিয়ে যুক্তরাষ্ট্র, কানাডা ও মেক্সিকো বিশ্বকাপের কোয়ালিফায়ারে যাত্রা শুরু করবে। বহুর আকাঙ্ক্ষিত ব্রাজিল-আর্জেন্টিনার সুপার ক্লাসিকো ম্যাচটি অনুষ্ঠিত হবে ১৯ নভেম্বর বাংলাদেশ সময় রাত ৩টায়।
